About Archer Smith
Archer D. Smith, III is a graduate of Emory University and the University of Georgia School of Law. He has been engaged in the practice of law with the firm since 1966. His areas of expertise include family law and commercial litigation, as well as general corporate representation.
Mr. Smith is a member of the Atlanta and American Bar Associations, as well as the State Bar of Georgia. He has served as Associate General Counsel for the State Bar of Georgia and he was a member of the Fulton County Arbitration Committee. He was co-chairman of the Atlanta Bar Association Committee on Civility Amongst Lawyers and Judges.
Over the last three decades, Mr. Smith has made numerous contributions to lawyers who practice domestic relations law in the State of Georgia. He and the firm authored a law practice system for domestic relations practitioners: Domestic Relations: Georgia Law Practice System, The Michie Company. Additionally, Mr. Smith is a frequent speaker at seminars involving every aspect of practicing domestic law in the State of Georgia. Mr. Smith has a well-documented record of service to his profession and the Firm's clients.
Mr. Smith's expertise is not limited to domestic law. He has substantial trial experience in matters involving commercial, partnership, estate and corporate litigation. He has extensive experience with appellate work at the state and federal court levels.
He was elected a charter member of the Barkley Foundation of Emory University. While at the University of Georgia School of Law, he was on the National Moot Court Team and was President of the Student Bar Association. He serves multiple civic and community organizations and he is an active parishioner at the Christ Episcopal Church in Kennesaw, Georgia.
